More than one in four adults in the UK have more than one long-term health condition. If we can understand the effort that people put into looking after their health, we can design healthcare services that work better for them.
We want to know how healthcare services, including GP services, can provide support. To do this, we are:
- asking people to complete a survey and/or
- interviewing people with more than one long-term health condition.
Up to 25 GP practices in Bristol and Greater Manchester areas are sending invitations to their patients. We are inviting people aged between 18 and 65 because not much research has been done with these age groups.
Researchers from the Centre for Academic Primary Care at the University of Bristol are leading this study, which is done in partnership with The University of Manchester, and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is funding it.
